The opening event for 10 days | Creative Collisions brought over 400 guests to Winchester Cathedral on Friday 25 October, as artists and visitors flocked to the ancient building to explore the artworks and installations
that have been six months in the making for Winchester’s premier contemporary arts platform.
The Dean of Winchester, the Very Revd James Attwell and Cannon Roland Reims, welcomed the scope of the artwork and the imagination of 47 artists who have produced 30 artistic projects, positioned in the crypt, nave, north and south transepts, Bible Room, Triforium gallery and chapels. Sophie Hacker, Arts and Exhbitions consultant for the Cathedral, and Angela Peagram of Art and Sacred Places, together curated the exhibition which forms the principal showcase of the biennial event.
