Accelerate! is an exciting, live-action lecture with explosions and liquid nitrogen – based on particle physics. Accelerate show is led by Joe Spencer – a researcher in Physics working with cutting edge laser technology.

Linger in the foyer and enjoy Science and you will come across internationally renowned physical theatre group Wet Picnic performing with students from University of Winchester, to conclude this special

performance.

Accelerate! is an exciting, live-action lecture with explosions and liquid nitrogen – based on particle physics and designed for the general public. Through a series of hands-on demonstrations, learn about particle accelerators - from the smallmachines used in medicine and industry, to the enormous 27 km ring of the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland. .

Accelerate! was designed for the general public by the University of Oxford and rolled out for performance by other Universities in the South East Physics Network. The University of Southampton’s Accelerate show is led by Joe Spencer – a researcher in Physics working with cutting edge laser technology.
