Colours of Grief - 2013

Elizabeth Saunders: (textile)

Grief affects us all. With reference to the National Arboretum’s memorial gardens which use colour to

express this emotion, linked with Kubler-Ross (1993) who suggested a grief “cycle,” ‘Colours of Grief’ uses colour and stitch to signify the movement within the grieving process within a protective grid. As the colours collide together, the journey begins and memories remain with quiet acceptance of what cannot be changed.
