Amelia's practice involves creating large vessels from either stoneware or raku clay using a 'coiling' method, producing a 'wobbly' overall appearance. The vessels are fired four times in order to create the finished piece. The final firing (and most exciting stage) uses a sawdust reduction technique when the vessels become 'alive' as the various glazes react in a wonderful kaleidoscopic infusion. www.amelia-tuttiett.co.uk*
